Colors of Spring - Blog Hop

Welcome to our March Blog Hop. I hope you enjoy all of the spring like projects. Please hop all the way through. As always, comments and pins are greatly appreciated by everyone that is participating. Enjoy!

I actually made these projects in reverse order. This was my last one and I must say my favorite! I decided I needed one more thing so I thought I'd quickly do a sketch challenge. Both of my attempts to have the DSP on the impressions folder in the right direction failed so I gave up. It has been one of those weeks.

1 Challenge: Sketch Frenzy Friday (022213) - layout.

SUPPLY LIST:
  • Stamp Sets: Oh, Hello
  • Colors: Very Vanilla, Staz On TM Black, Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral
  • DSP: Tea for Two (2013 Spring Catalog)
  • Embellishments: Basic Pearls
  • Punches: 1" Square (for Flag)
  • Big Shot: Honeycomb Textured Impressions TM Embossing Folder, Ovals Collection Framelits TM

For this next project, a My Digital Studio page, I created the layout to try to match the elements in the swap card. Then I decided on these pics. It was a bit chilly outside so taking these pictures today could have been more fun. I love how it turned out. They have been so patient with me today.

SUPPLY LIST:
  • Brush Sets: Oh, Hello
  • Colors: Very Vanilla
  • DSP: Tea for Two (2013 Spring Catalog)
  • Punches: Hexagon
  • Embellishments: Calypso Coral Baker's Twine using color changing tool.
  • Fonts: Honey Script from Dafont.com

This last one is the card I CASE'd from the Spring Catalog (p. 3) for our March card swap. It's a pretty awesome card in person. You should make one too!

HINT: The best way to cut out the hexagons is to run some card stock through with the impressions folder and cut one out. Then measure the width and cut a strip. I used a 5/8" strip and I held the pre-cut card stock hexagon to the DSP while I snipped off the extra corners. I wanted to do a video but my camera isn't working of course.

SUPPLY LIST:
  • Stamp Sets: Oh, Hello
  • Colors: Very Vanilla, Staz On TM Black
  • DSP: Tea for Two (2013 Spring Catalog)
  • Embellishments: Calypso Coral Baker's Twine
