Lovely as a Tree - FabFri25

Can you believe I finally got Lovely as a Tree?! Yeah, I broke down and got it at the beginning of the catalog year. I have always been afraid that once I buy it, it will get retired. Let's hope that doesn't happen.

I stamped everything in Chocolate Chip and then colored in the oak and the acorn with the Aquapainter TM. I also want to point out that I use and prefer the Brayer (102395) on the background stamps. It really makes a difference for even coverage.

CHALLENGE: Fab Friday (FabFri25) for the layout.

SUPPLY LIST: (for above)
  • Stamp Sets: Lovely as a Tree, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Dictionary
  • Colors: Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi, Soft Sky

  1. I did not at first recognize that this was inspired by the Fab Friday challenge! I like how you rotated the design. Sometimes the simplest changes have the biggest impact. I will have to get get my Lovely as a Tree set out and use it again. It has been a long time. This is a nice simple card.

  2. hahaha, and here I am hoping every year it will go away so we can justify getting something else, LOL! My mom bought it before she even told me about Stampin' Up! and I've been a demo for 9 years! :) But it super versatile and I've used it for every season, lots of cards and plenty of scrapbook pages, so I can't complain too loudly. ;)
And your card is lovely!! :)

  3. I am so with you on holding out on this set for fear it will retire. I have thus far resisted and purchased look alike stamps as they come along, but nothing beats the original! Beautiful watercoloring!

  5. This is beautiful! I love the dictionary background, and you've colored the tree so beautifully. I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't have this stamp set -- like you, I just know it will get retired as soon as I get it. :) Thanks for joining us at Fab Friday this week!

  6. I really like the blue background stamped with the Dictionary stamp. It really has a way of making your main image pop. Great coloring on the tree. LAAT is one of my favorites- long may it remain in the SU catalog! Thanks for joining us at Fab Friday!

  7. LOL! I held off on buying LAAT forever thinking the same as you that it would retire! That was 3 years ago! There might be a giant uproar in the SU world if they ever do retire it since it is such a staple in many peoples collection! You used it wonderfully here and it looks great paired up with the dictionary stamp! Thanks for sharing at Fab Friday!
