Blog Hop: Step It Up March

Welcome back to our monthly Step It Up Hop! We hope this new hop style helps many different levels of stampers. Thank you for joining us this month. We hope you have a happy and creative one.

I just love this set since saved a lot of seeds from last year's flowers. Sadly I learned during my first use that I need a larger block in order to stamp the big flowers completely. It's on the list.

The differences between these cards are subtle because I wasn't quite sure how to step it up. I added texture to the top, colored in a few more things and added some Candy Dots and Linen Thread to the label. Now that I look at it on here though I think I will remove the Linen Thread because it bugs me that it overlaps the stamped corners. Always a learning experience.

Other things to note: I don't have the matching framelits so I fussy cut the word frame. I also originally stamped the words in Very Vanilla and you couldn't see it so I stamped right over it with StazOn Black hence the shadowed look. When stamping "Thank" and "You" I put them both on the block together and stamped them once.

  1. I really like this! The textured top strip adds a lot!
I see what you mean by the thread covering up the corners... always a work in progress! :D

  2. BOTH of your cards are beautiful! I would never have noticed the detail about the linen thread! I think you are too critical of yourself!! Great artwork, Julie!!!
