Blog Hop: Step It Up July

Welcome back to our monthly Step It Up Hop! We hope our hop style helps many different levels of stampers. It really is fun creating both different types of cards so I hope you'll give it a try.

This time I stamped two cards side by side at the same time. No Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, I just tried my best to stamp everything in the same place and was successful. Unlike the day before when I wasted at least 3 sheets of Whisper White while making my swaps.

Stacking stamps is a scary thing for me but I decided to go for it since I usually end up with good results. I started with the honeycomb, then the fern (stamped off once) and then the flower and the sentiment. Only the petals of the flowers are colored in. To make this one layered card a little fancier I touched the petals with the Wink of Stella. I tried several different ribbons and twines but it was best as you see it here with just a hint of sparkle.

Here is my stepped up version. The butterfly is layered onto vellum that I patted into the So Saffron ink pad and then wiped off. It was adhered to the vellum with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen and then to the card with the Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the body only.

Since the Wink of Stella was an afterthought on both cards I also touched the top layer of the entire butterfly. I think I was able to capture it in this picture. They are really pretty in person.

As always, thank you for stopping by! To see what the other bloggers stepped up cards look like hop on over to Julie by clicking below:
