Blog Hop: Step It Up! February
Look at me! I blogged a few times between hops. I'm participating in two sketch challenges. My Inky Friends for the color combo and Freshly Made Sketches for the layout.
Today I'm using Party Panda*. This set is available for FREE with a $50** purchase.
Here's my birthday panda. Lots of birthdays this month (including mine) so it's only appropriate. I love the Thick Whisper White Cardstock. Have you tried it yet for a card base? It really is a huge difference from using the regular and I love a white card base. Money saving too if you're into that. I submitted this card to Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #322
I stepped up the card by stamping some leaves from Number of Years. Going back I would have also used the ground from the same set but didn't. I submitted this card to My Inky Friends Design Challenge #2.
I am including the inside of the card to you show you my quick flip tip. This was actually the front of the card until I picked up an edge on the "Happy Birthday" stamp. I can't have that. It's bad enough that there are some marks on the panda. So anyway, I flipped the card and lined it with some regular Whisper White.
*More than one set is featured on my cards.
**Total before tax and shipping
Colors: Soft Sky, Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist

Lol, I almost used the panda set today, too! I absolutely LOVE those leaves with the panda--thanks for sharing this brilliant idea :-D
ReplyDeleteThat panda is so cute! Goes great with the color challenge! I love how he is sitting on that green swoop. Great cards. Can you believe I haven't tried the thick whisper white yet? I'm putting it on my list.
ReplyDeleteThis is really cute! I like your glittery balloon, and I love the green card base, even tho my personal crafting preference is also a white base. :)
ReplyDeleteThis panda! Too cute! Great cards Julie!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun card! Love how you made the CAS card and then the stepped up version to show how small changes achieve big dividends. Thanks so much for playing along with the Inky Friends!
ReplyDeleteFun cards! I love your tip on turning the card inside out and adding a layer to cover the oopsie! Thanks for playing with us at My Inky Friends!
ReplyDeleteI love the whisper white background, but the stepped up version is great. I love your use of a stamp I'd not think of for the background!
ReplyDeleteThe pandas are one of my favorites, too cute!
