We Create Christmas Blog Hop
Welcome! Can you believe it's already December?! This year has really gone by fast. I think it is because I'm older and busier. Yeah, that's it. I'm feeling a bit festive this year so the decorations are out and 1/2 way up. I will most likely be finishing that up quick as it has just started to snow.
My card came together quick! There are a few things going on here that I really like. First, I wanted the softly falling background but it was just too simple with the dear right on it. Still a nice card but not what I was after. Then the deer on the Crumb Cake by itself was too plain so I added the DSP... and then the twine and ... perfection! You also might see that I used the DSP on the envelope flap. Something I think I will start doing.
I tried the floral line above and below the phrase but that was too much. The deer you see is on the outside front lower left of the envelope.
- Stamp Set: Dashing Deer
- Ink/Cardstock: Merry Merlot, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Whisper White
- DSP: Festive Farmhouse
- Embellishments: Twine from Pkg
- Big Shot: Detailed Deer Thinlits Dies, Softly Falling Embossing Folder
Card Measurements:
- Standard Card Size Folded: 4-1/4" x 5-1/2"
- Crumb Cake Layer: 2-3/4" x 4-1/4"
- DSP Layer: 3/8" x 4-1/4" showing. Cut wider and adhere behind Crumb Cake
- Inside Card Layer: 4" x 5-1/4"
Those stamps lend themselves to such great looking cards. You did a great job with it. Beautiful card.
ReplyDeleteI agree- the embossing, the DP and the twine make the card complete and beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely!
ReplyDeleteI love the little strip of DSP and the coordinating envelope. The softly falling is a beautiful background as well. The inside is beautiful and the little floral line below the sentiment is a nice balance. Very festive!
ReplyDeleteGreat card design. Love these colors together and the designer series paper adds the perfect touch. :)
